Finding images to use in work can be difficult, sourcing permission, paying royalties, can be a major headache. Thankfully morgueFile has a large selection of royalty-free images, that can be downloaded for free and used in your own projects whether online or not. The only thing you can’t do is sell the image or pass it off as your own. Otherwise the license is fairly flexible. Stock.XCHNG is also a very good source for images of a very high quality. Other sites include Open Photo and Wikimedia Commons.
So you’ve found or taken a awesome image, but now you want edit it. Well you are not short of options. GIMP, yes that is what it is called, is probably my favorite. Open source and with hundreds of tutorials on the internet. Other image editors to consider include Paint.NET which is basically taken ‘paint’ and given it more functions making it better for image editing.
Want family and friends to see your creative skills? Facebook image sharing is very good and well known, but if you are looking for something more professional, Flickr can’t be missed. Now owned by yahoo, Flickr allows you to share photos with the whole web, friends and family.
If you are looking for interesting typography, try Dafont. There are tons of free fonts to choose from, in various categories including facy, techno and gothic. Also previews of how text will look in a particular font can be generated. Other sources of free fonts include 1001 Free Fonts, urbanfonts, and Better Fonts.
The cheesy essential to any document. The world is awash in free clipart, including The #1 Free Clip Art Site which boasts over 10,000 royalty-free images and graphics. Two other good sites you should check out are Clipart ETC and CoolArchive.
Icons can both jazz up your desktop and enhance creative work such as websites. Free Icons Download offer high quality royalty-free image in categories ranging from this to that. This is just one of many similar sites on the web. Also worth a look are Free Icons Web and DryIcons.
Want to create your own cartoon or animation, then Aniboom, is a great site with a built in animation software allowing you to create your next masterpiece. Also there are hundreds of examples for inspiration.

Youtube is the obvious option that springs to mind when it comes to video sharing, but don’t ignore the smaller player such as Dailymotion and Metacafe. Don’t forget Facebook also has a video app so if you only want your friends to see the video, then use something like Facebook instead.
